Raise in Long-Team Care Insurance Premium Rate

Dear Insured Persons of MSD Health Insurance Society,

 

We would like to announce that the raise of the Long-Team Care Insurance (hereinafter referred to as “LTCI”) premium rate for 2019 has been adopted in the 37^th Society Committee meeting of MSD Health Insurance Society, and been submitted to Bureau of Health and Welfare as follows.

Your understanding and cooperation would be greatly appreciated.

Person who pay premium of the LTCI (called “No. 2 insured persons of LTCI”) is insured person of Health Insurance aged 40 to 64 or insured person of Health Insurance who has dependents aged 40 to 64.

1.      Premium Rate for LTCI: The rate will be raised from 0.90% to 1.10%.

 

	Before February 28, 2019	On and after March 1, 2019
Insured Person	0.432%	0.528%
Employer	0.468%	0.572%
Total	0.900%	1.100%

 

2.      Effective Date: March 1^st,, 2019

The new premium rate will become effective from the premium levied on AIP/SIP to be paid in March 2019, and on the monthly salary to be paid in April 2019 and after.

 

3.      Reasons for the LTCI premium rate raise:

We will be not able to cover the total Levy for the LTCI, only with the premium income based on the current premium rate and the reserve fund. Therefore, we decided to raise the LTCI premium rate.
