If you have a clearly traumatic injury such as bone fracture, dislocation, bruise, sprain, or pulled muscle, you can undergo treatment by a judotherapist using health insurance. (For treatment for a bone fracture or dislocation, a doctor’s consent is required except for first-aid treatment.)
In this case, the costs for such treatment are handled as Medical Care Expenses for which you must pay the entire amount yourself, then apply to the Health Insurance Society to be reimbursed at a later date for the portion covered by health insurance. However, at a clinic that has concluded an agreement for direct payment of Medical Care Expenses, you can delegate the application for Medical Care Expenses to the judotherapist, so you only have to pay a copayment, just like at an insurance medical care institution. Check to confirm that the contents of the application form are correct before you sign it.
