“A Maternity Allowance” is paid if a female insured person is unable to receive her salary due to time taken off from work for childbirth.

How to apply	If you are an MSDKK or MSDGK employee, you will receive a set of papers from Payroll Inc. Please fill in those papers and send them back to Payroll Inc. in the enclosed return envelope. If you are an MSD AHKK employee, contact to i6 Consulting Sharoshi Hojin in charge of AH. If you are an ORGANON KK employee, contact to i6 Consulting Sharoshi Hojin in charge of ORGANON.

Notes:	On the application form, obtain certification from your doctor or midwife. MSDKK or MSDGK employee: Payroll Inc certify your maternity leave and whether you are being paid remuneration during this leave. MSD AH KK employee: i6 Consulting Sharoshi Hojin in charge of AH certify your maternity leave and whether you are being paid remuneration during this leave. ORGANON KK employee: i6 Consulting Sharoshi Hojin in charge of ORGANON certify your maternity leave and whether you are being paid remuneration during this leave.

If you take maternity leave, childcare leave, or other similar leave

If you take childcare leave, your employer can apply to exempt you from paying insurance premiums during the leave period up to the child's third birthday.
Your employer will apply for this exemption.

** The period of childcare leave refers to the period you take off work for childcare leave or other similar leave that conforms to the system of childcare leave up to the child's third birthday.
